Other forms: climate changes
The shifting weather patterns caused mainly by carbon dioxide in the atmosphere is known as climate change. Reducing fossil fuels is one way to slow climate change.
When the average weather conditions in a certain place change significantly over a long time period, that's climate change. Naturally occurring climate change is what melted the glaciers that once covered much of North America. Currently, Earth's climate is changing as a result of human activity, and the results include warmer temperatures, rising sea levels, and more intense storms. Fighting climate change is a daunting but important goal.
